Submersible Pump for aquarium CE certification

Submersible Pump for aquarium CE certification

Submersible pump CE Certificate is given in accordance with the regulations covering the pumps. The Machinery Regulation is one of the most fundamental legal regulations applicable to submersible pumps and other pump units. Companies that want to obtain a submersible pump CE Certificate should follow a CE certification process, taking into account the characteristics of the pump and the regulation(s) under which the pump is evaluated. Factors such as the pump´s operating principle, capacity, supply voltage, non-flammability etc. can expand the scope of regulations to be issued with CE Certificate. In all cases, manufacturers are required to verify that the product meets the basic health, safety and technical requirements, as well as the conditions for placing on the market, by obtaining the CE Certificate of the submersible pump within the framework of an appropriate regulation.

What is Submersible Pump CE Certificate?

Submersible pumps, as the name suggests, are designed to be completely submerged in water (or other liquid). Having the centrifugal pump principle, these pumps have a motor or motors that power an impeller designed to rotate and push water out. The motor is enclosed in a watertight seal and is tightly coupled to the body of the pump it powers.

The submersible pumps are placed inside the water tank to be pumped out. For this reason, they are often used for drainage in floods, pumping sewage, draining pools, as well as pool filters. Filtration pumps in fish tanks are also a type of submersible pump. In the case of using a water tank, submersible pumps are installed inside the tank to pump the water where it is needed.

Some submersible pumps can easily handle solids, while others are designed for liquids only. These pumps are very quiet during operation as they operate underwater. Cavitation is not a problem for these pumps because there are no spikes in pressure values ??as the water flows through the pump.

In the process of obtaining CE Certificate for the submersible pump, the following important points should be taken into account when determining the regulation that will issue the CE Certificate:

• All pumps and gasoline engines are covered by the Machinery Directive.

• Submersible pumps operating with properly grounded AC motors are covered by the Machinery and Low Voltage Directives if they operate in the 50 to 1000 V range.

• Pumps powered by DC brush type motors or motors driven by inverters operating in the DC voltage range of 75 to 1500 V and gasoline engines are covered by the Machinery, Low Voltage and EMC Directives. Pumps powered by DC motors operating at voltages below 75 V DC are covered by the Machinery and EMC Directives.

• Pumps driven by AC or DC motors intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres are covered by the ATEX Directive as well as the directives described above. Pumps powered by petrol engines are not permitted in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres and where normally fully shielded diesel engines are used as an alternative.

o Pumps driven by AC or DC motors or diesel engines for use in Zone 1 aboveground areas must be designed to meet Category 2 equipment requirements and must be approved by a European Notified Body.

o Pumps driven by AC or DC motors or diesel engines for use in Zone 2 above-ground areas must be designed to meet the requirements of Category 3 and do not require the involvement of a European Notified Body.

• If the submersible pump contains one or more of the products in the Simple Pressure Vessels Directive and works in line with the parameters described in the regulation, the requirements of this regulation should also be taken into account.

Submersible Pump CE Certificate Scope

The scope of the products to be given the CE Certificate of the submersible pump is quite wide. The pumps listed below are outside the scope of the Machinery Directive, which covers many types of pumps:

• Manually applied pumps and pump units directly from a single power source

• Pumps and pump units for medical use used in direct contact with patients

• Pumps and pump units specially designed or put into service for nuclear purposes, which may cause radioactivity emission in case of failure.

• Pumps and pump units for use on offshore vessels or mobile offshore units

• Pumps and pump units specially designed for military or police purposes

The Machinery Directive lays down the essential health and safety requirements for the design and construction of machinery and safety components. These requirements for pumps and pump units are specified more specifically in the European safety standard EN 809 "Pumps and pump units for liquids; General safety requirements". Accessible structure, assembly, blood in the standard Technical safety requirements are determined for it test, installers, operation and service. The requirements of other harmonized standards described in the regulations should be taken into account, depending on the features of the product that will receive the submersible pump CE Certificate.

How to Get CE Certificate of Submersible Pump?

We can summarize the steps to be followed by a company that will receive a submersible pump CE Certificate as follows:

• Determining which regulation the submersible pump unit falls under

• Determining which standards these regulations refer to and the scope of these standards

• Verification of the product´s properties such as capacity, flammability, impermeability, noise level, pressure, temperature, intended use, etc., by means of various tests, calculations, analysis, inspection, etc., in line with the regulation(s) and standard requirements.

• Creation of technical file

• Issuance of the declaration of conformity

• Involving a notified body in accordance with the conformity assessment procedure or following the certification procedures that will directly carry out the manufacturer´s own approval process

• Starting the process of obtaining CE Certificate of submersible pump by applying to an accredited certification body

• Issuance of CE Certificate if all conditions for certification are met

Submersible Pump CE Certificate Benefits

Submersible pump CE Certificate will provide companies with the following benefits:

• Verifying that the submersible pump units meet the essential health and safety requirements specified in the regulations

• To be able to introduce the products to the European market and to meet the domestic market supply conditions.

• Ensuring customer satisfaction and thus increasing corporate reputation and brand prestige

• Increasing the trust of the stakeholders in the institution

• Obtaining privilege / priority right in the tenders held for projects that require the use of submersible pumps in different sectors.

• To be able to benefit from the support provided by the government to companies with CE Certificate
